As you may or may not be aware new EU legislation came into place on the 1st July 2010 meaning that all Mobile Telecom providers now have to cap their data roaming charges at 50 Euros (EX VAT).
As such you will receive a text message to tell you when you are at 80% of this limit and again if you hit 100% of this limit. Once you have reached this limit your International Data will be automatically barred. This barr can be lifted by contacting our customer care department, or you can opt into or out of the scheme again by contacting our customer care department if you wish.
PLEASE NOTE: We will use best endeavours to apply the bar as soon as we are aware that you have hit the 50 Euro limit. However, in certain circumstances that are beyond our control, such as delays in call data from non-UK based networks being received, overall data charges may exceed the 50 Euro limit. In these instances you, as the customer, will be responsible for full payment of these charges.

Shipton Aquisition
Nine Telecom Group Acquire Shipton Communications
Nine Telecom have successfully completed the acquisition of renowned network services provider, Shipton Communications, now to be known as Nine Shipton Ltd.
Shipton Communications was founded in 1890; just 14 years after Alexander Graham Bell patented the telephone. It is the UK’s oldest independent telecommunications company and one of the oldest telecommunications companies in the World.
The acquisition, which has safeguarded 25 jobs, will see Nine Telecom Group reposition the newly founded Nine Shipton Ltd as a specialist engineering outsourcing provider.
The new Nine Shipton Ltd business does not in any way compete or interfere with Nine Telecom’s business partners. It has been created to provide a professional, comprehensive engineering support programme which is managed with the same high standards and integrity as the Nine Telecom Group.
The new business model will provide our business partners with an outsourced engineering support service, offered on a practical and fair ‘pay as you use’ basis.
Available strictly through our Third Party sales channel, Nine Shipton Ltd will not sell directly to any End User. Nor will it sell to any new End Users, with all new sales calls ceasing with immediate effect.
Nine Shipton Ltd will provide engineering support including installation and maintenance of all makes and models of systems, across the entire UK, as well as providing outstanding support and technical advice for high end call centre systems. The company will also offer practical support and advice when Nine Telecom Group customers tender for new business.
